Top 5 movies of the summer
Since my summer vacations started, I have been meaning to make a list of movies that I should go and watch in theatres this summer. By now, movies like Iron man 2 and Prince of Persia have already been released, so I won’t be taking those into account. I have managed to create a top 5 of the movies releasing in June, July and August of 2010.
5. The Last Airbender
Anyone who has seen Avatar (I don’t mean the one with Pandora in it, I mean the cartoon show) is surely gonna have to watch this. Two years in the making, the graphics are set to be amazing (It’s releasing in 3D). For those who don’t know already, the movie is the story of the last descendant of the airbenders who is to take revenge on the fire kingdom for conquering the air, water and earth kingdoms.
4. Takers
The movie has little or no hype, but I found the story worth the watch. The movie is about a cop who comes in the middle of a group of bank robbers and their $20 million.
3. Predators
That’s right, it’s the 3rd movie of Predator franchise. This time without aliens. Let’s face it, Predators are more cooler than them Aliens. I mainly wanna watch this because i loved the first 2 predator movies and not the AVP crap.
2. Inception
Set in a futuristic world, technologies exist that can allow us to steal thoughts from the human mind when it’s dreaming. Leonardo DiCaprio does a great job in his role that is central to the movie.
1. The Expendables
Probably the biggest action movie of the summer. It stars Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis and a host of other action stars and directed by Sylvester Stallone. It’s the story of a crew of mercenaries that travel to South America to overthrow a dictator.
Movie that didn’t make it to the top 5
The A-team
Framed for crime they didn’t commit, a team of four former Special Forces soldiers looks to clear their name with the U.S. military.

Scientists fuse 2 different samples of human DNA. Things go horribly wrong a bit later.
Jonah Hex
The U.S. military gives bounty hunter Jonah Hex and offer he cannot refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he’s to take down a terrorist.
Knight and Day
An action-comedy starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice
Master sorcerer Balthazar Blake recruits a seemingly everyday guy in his mission to defend New York City from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath.
Salt
A spy thriller starring Angelina Jolie
The Other Guys
Two mismatched New York City detectives seize an opportunity to step up like the city’s top cops whom they idolize, only things don’t quite go as planned.
The last Exorcism
A troubled evangelical minister agrees to let his last exorcism be filmed by a documentary crew, where a possessed young brings him face to face with the devil himself.
